- August 6, 2002 -- Kodak film sales could get 'weaker': analyst UBS
Warburg analyst Benjamin Reitzes said recent industry data indicated that film sales for
Eastman Kodak "could still be getting weaker" from last year given recent
declines in travel and leisure activity. Reitzes added that digital substitution is also
hampering U.S. film growth. Merrill Lynch's Shannon Cross said the data indicates Kodak
has regained market share, but at the expense of continued price declines. The stock, a
component of the Dow industrials.

- August 2, 2002 -- On the afternoon of July 10th, Inter-State Studio and
Publishing held a dedication ceremony to celebrate the opening of a 20,500 square foot
addition to their national headquarters and manufacturing facility in Sedalia, Missouri.

Joining in the celebration were Inter-State Regional Sales Representatives from every
region of the United States as well as representatives from each of the building
contractors, the Sedalia Chamber of Commerce, and many of the companys suppliers.
After the ceremony, visitors were given tours of the facility and had their portraits
taken for a personalized flyer.
The new space houses a photographic training and conference center, customer service,
marketing support, an expanded electronic prepress department and executive offices. The
areas in the original section previously used for these functions have been adapted for
manufacturing expansion including the installation of several new digital printing
machines.
The dedication ceremony was the debut of Inter-States new HP Indigo Digital Printing
Press. The Indigo is a fully digital press that lowers the setup costs involved in short
run color printing. A key feature of the Indigo is support for personalized printing where
each printed piece is customized for the recipient. The press will be used primarily to
support Inter-States commercial printing customers, but it will also be used to
print yearbooks for small schools which were not economically feasible to print using
traditional methods.
The annual Sales College, a series of technical training sessions for Inter-State Sales
Representatives, was the first use of the new training and conference center. The
sessions, held earlier that day, covered the 7.0 version of the companys SchoolDex
software which will be introduced this fall. The new version includes a Yearbook Wizard
feature which a school can use to quickly design a Yearbook using the images supplied by
the Studio.
In addition to the new space in the headquarters building, Inter-State has also purchased
an adjacent 16,000 square foot building that will be remodeled to house further expansion
of the commercial printing division.

- July 10, 2002 -- Glen A. Clark, Vice President - Professional Markets,
The Chilcote Company, parent company for photo-industry leaders Taprell Loomis (TAP),
Topflight and Winthrop Atkins, announced today the formation of the TAP Professional
Advisory Council, an organization of photographic studio owners and industry
representatives. The primary purpose of the council will be to provide a forum to promote
the role and importance of "Professional Photo Packaging" in enhancing the image
and increasing sales of photographic businesses. The Professional Advisory Council will
work with TAP and their distributors nationwide to create educational and promotional
opportunities for photographic professionals and their customers.
The TAP Professional Advisory Council was launched with a three-day strategic session on
June 24-26 in Cleveland, Ohio. Attending and participating in the initial meetings were a
variety of successful photographic professionals, representing a cross-section of the
industry.
As part of the announcement Clark stated, "Our goal in establishing the Professional
Advisory Council is to provide a forum for the industry where we can discuss and consider
all aspects of photo imaging presentations. Professional photography as a whole is in the
midst of massive and immediate change. Many professionals are embracing new technologies
and digital imaging alternatives. A lure of these new techniques is to emphasize speed and
convenience over quality of presentation. One concern is that the industry may actually
regress in the areas of image presentation in favor of immediacy. The TAP Professional
Advisory Council has been formed to help us keep in touch with the entire industry;
photographers, distributors, and suppliers, so that together we can help maintain a high
level of artistic and competitive integrity with the products and service presentations
offered by photographic professionals."
Members of the TAP Professional Advisory Council include:
Billings, Rick - PhotoWave/ASPN.com
Clark, Robin - PlanIt! Services
Costanzo, Jerry - Reflections Photography

- July 10, 2002 -- "Future Challenges: Professionalism & The
Digital Age" is the theme for an action packed business program supported by a
suppliers' exhibition in a pleasant social atmosphere with plenty of time for delegates to
exchange ideas and opinions.

challenges together.

increase standards in the all-important sector of photography, and the second to encompass
the new world of digital imaging, by understanding and adapting the new techniques
available.

Inc. All other speakers are from the UK.
